"And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do it all in the Name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

Colossians 3:17

In 2002 Barbara started crocheting baby blankets for what was then the Baptist Hospital after learning there was a need. The blankets would be made for preemie babies who did not live after birth. This would provide something special for them to be buried in. When Jeannie joined BHBC and learned what Barbara was doing, she wanted to get involved. At this time they did not have a ministry name. It was just two ladies crocheting, enjoying what they were doing and being blessed. A few years later Paula shared with them the idea of making prayer shawls for people who were having a hard time or just needed a "hug" from the Lord. It was decided they would also start making prayer shawls, but realized they could not do it all on their own. It was also decided they would see if anyone in the church would like to learn to crochet or join in their work. That is how the C.O.O.L. Ministry got it's start in 2005. The name C.O.O.L. stands for “Crocheting out of Love" and truly is an act of love. We now have seven active members and some very important people behind the scenes for whom we are very thankful!

We meet the second Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at the church. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, bring a crochet hook, some soft yarn and join us for a fun time of crocheting, prayer, and fellowship. A big part of what we do is pray. We pray for Moms-to-be, sick babies, and for those who will receive the things we make.

All we do is done for the glory of God. We desire to share His love with others through the work of our hands and yarn. We thank Him for 10 years of ministry and look forward to all the wonderful things He has for us in the years ahead! Please pray for us.
